We have some exciting {to us} landscaping updates that are supposed to be started and hopefully finished tomorrow. So, hopefully I’ll have more to share on that shortly.
As you know, I am this.close to wrapping up my office for a final reveal. The chandelier was a big component and the drapes are nearly done. My inspiration board has almost come full circle and is nearly complete!
About two weeks ago I {finally} found some fairly affordable Schumacher Avebury Vine Floral fabric on eBay. It was in the UK and it arrived last week. I LOVE the fabric as expected {it is so much more beautiful in real life than the image below portrays}, but now I’m not so sure it is perfect for the office. I will definitely use it somewhere {I’m even contemplating swapping it out with the floral in the living room}.

Since the pillows will sit on the chairs, I’m starting to feel like it is too much of the cream linen color and there just isn’t enough of a contrast. I’m now leaning towards something bold, green and/or brown may be a better fit. As a reminder, I want the room to have an organic feel that works will with all the windows and outdoor spaces that seem to feel like they are part of the room. Here are the two leading contenders: Schumacher’s Cenonceau in Aloe and Schumacher’s Hot House Flowers in Verdance:

In addition to working well with the outdoors, I like how these prints would also make the fiddle leaf fig feel more intentional and help to incorporate the bold green leafs better. I prefer the Cenonceau print over the Hot House Flowers {especially since I’ve used that fabric in our master} but I like that the Hot House has brown in it, helping to tie into the drapes better.
So, what do you think? Should I stick with the original plan or do you like one of these bolder/more colorful fabrics?

I’m sort of digging the Cenonceau…I’ve loved that fabric and wanted to use it in my living but couldn’t find a way. I know the Aloe is pretty Emerald, but I think since this is your office you should do something fun and bold… I think it will still work with the brown curtains and have sort of a pop of color…plus it’s gorgeous. You’ll still get the organic, botanical feel from it, but it is less expected and I think more sophisticated. I love following your projects! Thanks for sharing your board. Good luck, hard decision!

I love the Hot House Flowers fabric. Those shades of green are gorgeous. The Cenonceau is pretty, but it just doesn’t seem to tie in with the rest of your inspiration board.
Can’t wait for the reveal. Your use of fabric is always my favorite thing in each room you do.

Where are the drapes from?

I made the drapes that are currently in the room with Kravet’s Windsor Smith Riad in Clove fabric.
