We have been needing some new drapes in our living room ever since the old ones didn’t match the new furniture. After searching site after site, I could not find anything I liked for under $80 per panel (and I needed four)! Obviously not going to happen. We have 9 foot ceiling and I wanted something that started at the ceiling and billowed on the floor slightly, so it needed to be 110″.
I was at the fabric store the other day, and found some great fabric at $2.49 a yard that looked a lot like linen. I had a 40% off coupon that covered one full cut (so it was only $1.49 a yard). 15 yards later, I had spent about $4.50 per drape panel and have a few yards left over if I ever want to make coordinating pillow or a curtain in the kitchen.
The bulk of our weekend was spent working on our hallway project again {and I did more painting on the staircase}. I changed the top color of paint to the color {Behr Ultra Nile Sand} I have in the bonus room and the staircase {since I had the paint out and it is only a three foot high area} and I am much happier with how it looks. All the white was making the other paint look REALLY yellow and rather bright. Here is a glimpse of the much more subdued paint along with the ledge installed in this area. We still have a few weeks left, but it is moving along!
